Duetile

For students on Canvas

Your whole term,
one glance.

Duetile reads your Canvas courses and lays out everything that is due, turned in, missing and coming up as one clear board on your Mac.

What it does

Five course pages become one board.

Canvas spreads your work across every class. Duetile gathers it, so you stop clicking through tabs to find out what is due.

This week

Every assignment, quiz and exam on a seven-day board, coloured by class. What you have turned in is crossed off. What is missing is flagged.

Dates that hide

It reads announcements, messages and syllabi for dates that never made it onto the calendar, and tells you when a syllabus and Canvas disagree.

Readings

One dated reading list for every class, pulled from modules and syllabi, each with a link that opens the reading. Tick them off as you go.

Grades

Where you stand in each class, using your teacher's own weights and dropped scores. Try a score on the next exam and see what it does.

Private by design

Your coursework stays on your Mac.

Duetile has no servers to send your grades to. You sign in on your school's own page, and what Duetile reads stays in a folder on your computer.

  • No account to make
  • Nothing uploaded
  • No AI reading your work
  • No ads, no tracking
  • Never sees your password
  • Only reads. Never changes Canvas

Setup

Sign in once. That's it.

  1. Find your school

Type its name into Duetile and pick it from the list.

  2. Sign in

A window opens on your school's own sign-in page. Sign in the way you always do.

  3. Open your board

Duetile reads your classes, which takes about a minute, then shows your week.

You need a Mac and a school that uses Canvas. Any browser is fine.

Questions

Fair things to ask.

Does it work with my school?

If your school uses Canvas, it should. Schools often give Canvas their own name, so check the web address when you sign in. Most end in instructure.com.

Is there a Windows or phone version?

Not yet. Duetile is a Mac app today.

Does it replace Canvas?

No. Canvas is still where you hand work in and where the official dates and grades live. Duetile is a clearer view of it. If a date or grade matters, confirm it in Canvas or with your teacher.

Does Duetile get my school password?

No. You type it into your school's own sign-in page, and Duetile does not read what you type there. It keeps the signed-in session on your Mac, the way a browser does, and you can sign out in Settings.

Can it turn in work or change anything?

No. It only reads.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once.

Who makes it?

A college student who got tired of checking five course pages every Sunday night. Duetile is independent. It is not made or endorsed by Instructure or by any school.
